Anyone can experience a dental emergency. Whether you have an accident, like a fall, that knocks a tooth out of place, a tooth infection, or severe tooth or jaw pain, we are here to help you.
Dental emergencies are generally emergencies that involve your teeth, gums, or areas inside the mouth.
Some common dental emergencies include:
If you are unsure whether or not you are experiencing a dental emergency, please call our dental office to speak with our friendly, helpful staff. In some cases, it may be more appropriate to visit the emergency room than our dental office. If you have a high fever, severe bleeding, impacted breathing, or other severe symptoms, you should seek immediate care at an ER.
We know how scary a dental emergency can be, so we want you to receive treatment as soon as possible in an emergency. When you call our dental office with a dental emergency, we will arrange an appointment for you with one of our dentists as soon as we possibly can. We often provide same-day appointments for situations that warrant immediate action or situations where you are experiencing pain.
Once you arrive, we want you to feel safe and comfortable in our office. Our first goal will be to minimize any pain you are experiencing while stabilizing your tooth, if necessary.
Dr. Igor Kaplansky and Dr. Samantha Smith are both patient and understanding, and they are skilled in helping patients through dental emergencies.
The treatment you receive during your emergency dental appointment will depend on your specific dental problem. We have performed a variety of emergency dental treatments in our office, including emergency dental implants.Dr. Kaplansky or Dr. Smith will evaluate your dental emergency during your appointment and advise you on the best course of action.
Unfortunately, it isn’t always possible to prevent emergency dental work. Injuries due to accidents, for example, may be impossible to avoid. However, there are some ways to help protect your teeth and mouth from other emergencies.
Basically, paying attention to your oral health and keeping your mouth and teeth as safe and as clean as possible will help you avoid situations that will lead to a dental emergency.
At Dentistry by Doctor Kaplansky, we serve Gasport residents and surrounding areas, including Lockport, Terrys Corners, Wrights Corners, Carlisle Gardens, Hartland, and Highland Park.
